National Railway Company of Belgium - Smart Meeting Rooms, Part 1
The Vision
When organizations lack sufficient medium or large-sized meeting rooms, small meeting spaces can be combined using low latency AV transmission and collaborative tools.
HDMI-connected displays deliver the highest quality video for delegates in adjoining rooms
Professional cameras and audio equipment can be used at full quality, connecting meeting rooms with the best possible AV experience
Unified communication tools can be integrated with installed AV to provide interactive services, real-time text chat, and file sharing
Wireless sharing hardware reduces cable clutter and engages multiple delegates as presenters
The average conference camera cannot capture everyone in the conference room, and the picture quality is not good
The Technology
1. Automatic tracking cameras
Lumens VC-TR1 features intelligent tracking and framing modes to deliver autonomous video production, with all delegates in view.
2. One click screen sharing
Barco ClickShare offers instant screen sharing
Delegates can instantly switch between laptops
Wireless technology eliminates cable clutter and reduces setup time
3. Full-room audio coverage
Patented Microphone Mist technology fills rooms with thousands of virtual microphones so voices are picked up everywhere
4. Central control management
A Crestron control system manages all connected devices
Manages the HDMI matrix switch to synchronize displays across multiple rooms
Flexible use of meeting spaces in single room mode or combination room mode
How the System Works
The organization has two adjoining meeting rooms. These can be used independently from one another or combined into a single space using AV technology.
Master Room
The Touch panel in the master room can determine whether the room is in single or combined mode.
Single Room Mode
The Touch panel controls local source routing for the master room to switch between CX-30 and the camera inputs.
Combined Room Mode
The Touch panel will control source routing in both rooms and override the Crestron RMC3 controller in the slave room. Using the touch panel, users can route any CX-30 device to any room in any possible combination.
Slave Room
Single Room Mode
The Touch panel controls local source routing for the master room to switch between CX-30 and the camera inputs.
Combined Room Mode
The switch in the slave room is bypassed. Control of the system is managed from the touch panel in the master room.
