The ‘Stand Party’ that Barco and AED group had planned at Prolight + Sound 2016 on Wednesday night, couldn’t have come at a better time: on Wednesday morning, AED group had signed a deal at our booth to purchase 30 new Barco projectors and 10 MMS-200. “Barco remains at the forefront of new audiovisual technology, so we are more than happy to follow their pace and invest in their latest solutions,” said Glenn Roggeman, CEO AED group.

Under the new agreement, Barco will deliver extra 10 HDX-W20 FLEX projectors to complement AED’s existing stock of HDX gear. In addition, AED took the step to 4K: 20 HDX-4K20 FLEX projectors – one of the showstoppers at Barco’s booth this year – will move to AED’s five warehouses soon. Last but not least, AED purchased 10 MMS-200 mirror systems. Using a custom front surface and an optically flat mirror, the MMS-200 helps video and light designers position images in multiple locations, so that the projector can be rigged in its natural position.

Love the FLEXibility
AED group has been a trusted Barco customer for many years. When Barco launched its high-brightness HDX projectors back in 2012, AED was among the first to invest in the new range. “We immediately loved its brightness and the FLEX system that Barco launched shortly later. FLEX is a great way to standardize the fleet centered around fewer projector models and thus limit its running cost,” said Thierry Heldenbergh, Managing Director AED Display in a customer story we published in 2014.
