Electro-Voice sound system maximises room potential for UK hotel and conference centre

At De Vere’s Wokefield Park Hotel, Golf Club and Conference Centre, an all-Electro-Voice sound reinforcement system is helping to define different spaces and events in the newly-built Executive Centre.

Set in the rural Berkshire countryside, Wokefield Park offers a variety of meeting options for business and social events in its spacious, ultra-modern, purpose-built Executive Centre. For conferences, Christmas parties and gala dinners, the main function room can accommodate up to 550 seated, but has designed in extra flexibility using room dividers and a switchable PA system.

AV contractor Show State and its supplier Concept Audio have equipped the Executive Suite with eight Electro-Voice ZX1i-90 full-range loudspeaker cabinets in white, wall-mounted at intervals down either side of the large space. Supplemented by two EVID 12.1 subs, the system is powered by CPS amplifiers, running the IRIS-Net platform for system management.

Show State has installed bespoke input plates around the room, allowing the technicians’ position to be set up in any one of several locations. A bespoke selector switch in the amp room allows the EV system to be switched into a two-room configuration. Using a sliding partition, the space can be split into two discrete meeting rooms, accommodating 300 and 100 people respectively. All processing for the different configurations is handled by two DC-One signal processors.
