Electro-Voice previews the RCM-28 DSP and OMNEO network module for Tour Grade amplifiers at InfoComm 2012, booth C9708

Las Vegas, NV, June 13, 2012 --  Electro-Voice is previewing the new RCM-28 DSP and networking module for the Tour Grade series of power amplifiers at InfoComm 2012. The RCM-28 continues EV’s heritage of bringing state-of-the-art technologies and tools to the professional sound industry.

The RCM-28 brings two significant innovations to the world of power amplifiers: EV’s industry-leading FIR-Drive DSP technology and the OMNEO media networking architecture.

The RCM-28 DSP and networking module provides advanced loudspeaker processing through its FIR-Drive technology that includes advanced FIR filters, conventional filters, and the Peak Anticipation (PA) and Thermal Energy Management and Protection (TEMP) Limiter loudspeaker protection package.

Full system control and supervision is provided by the IRIS-Net software package. IRIS-Net is able to monitor all aspects of the system components, from signal and DSP performance to hardware and network status. The unmatched supervision and control features provided by IRIS-Net ensure optimum system performance, reduce maintenence costs and down time and provide valuable peace-of-mind to designers and operators alike.

The RCM-28 has been designed with uncompromising audio quality in mind. Analog audio inputs (internally, pre or post fader) and an AES3 (AES/EBU) digital audio input with XLR-type connector are provided. The use of the digital audio input offers a dynamic range of 128 dB.

Perhaps the most significant new feature of the RCM-28 is the inclusion of OMNEO media networking architecture. The OMNEO architecture provides both program content and system control in order to provide users with a powerful, integrated multi-vendor solution. Interoperability can be achieved for media transport, control data, or both.
